What drives me and my performance is my desire to... use the gifts and abilities God has given me to be the best I can and inspire others along the way.
My Mini Bio Distance running has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up in a family of runners and ran my first official 5k in the 4th grade. I have one sister and two brothers and they all competed in college and are runners. Both my parents run marathons. I ran for Idaho State University and hold the school record in the indoor 3000m and Distance Medley Relay. I made it to USATF Nationals in the 3k steeplechase in 2009, 2010, and 2011. I ran my first marathon October 10, 2010 in 2:49:31 at Chicago. At the end of 2010 I was accepted into the Brooks ID program and am currently a member for 2011. It is wonderful to have the support of such a great running company. I recently moved to Seattle, WA and joined Club Northwest. Having some sort of support is key to post-collegiate success. Some of my PRs include 4:28 1500m, 4:48 indoor mile, 9:23 indoor 3000m, 10:07 3000m steeplechase, 16:38 5000m. 2:49:31 Marathon. I love mentoring others to help them achieve their goals and live healthy lifestyles. I do not run and train day in and day out with the hopes of making money, I do it for the love of the sport. I am very grateful for all of the help and encouragement I have received over the years that has helped get me where I am today and will help me reach my goals in the future.

I first started racing because... it seemed like the normal thing to do, at least in my family.
I race competitively today because... it is a reward for all my hard training.
The achievements I am most proud of are... Making it to USATF Nationals after surgery on my esophagus in 2009. Also, on 10/10/10 I ran my first marathon at Chicago in 2:49.31.
Training Tip for My Fans Over the years I have learned that being consistent and gradually increasing your workload is key to improvement but listening to your body and taking rest is a crucial part in your development as an athlete. As an elite athlete you are tiptoeing a fine line between over-training and reaching your full potential. So remember, a healthy athlete will beat an injured one on any given day.
Fun Fact about me Aside from running I love to climb mountains, play sports, fish, spend time with my friends and family, and basically anything outdoors. From a young age I have been a very active individual. Each summer my family would take a two week vacation and we would climb one of the high pointers in a different state. I day hiked to the top of Mount Whitney in California when I was 12, I have been to the top of Granite Peak, the next three in one week: Mount Elbert, Mount Massive, and Longs Peak in Colorado, and many others. I love running and anything and everything about living a healthy lifestyle.
